The hive is designed by the beekeeper as well as the carpenter.
In the Solidarity Circle approach, user, craftsperson and beekeeper agree the need, material, dimensions and maintenance responsibilities before work begins.
Production, materials and conditions
A real design would be prepared with the beekeeper by agreeing hive type, internal dimensions, frame standard, base, ventilation, timber, surface protection and maintenance. Technical suitability cannot be inferred from this image.
Capacity and preparation
The sample unit is a single-storey hive. Lead time, shipping size, live-bee option and warranty are unknown until a real maker is selected.
